METAMORPHOSYA
Metamorphosya was inspired by a painting I once made by the same name.
The piece is about the transformation, or metamorphosis, that takes place when traveling to different realms through creativity, in this case through painting.
The girl inside the theatre is in the process of transforming into a butterfly whilst she is painting a cocoon on the canvas upon her easel.
I built the theatre using a large, vintage wooden winebox with chesspieces as 'feet'
The butterfly at the top of the theatre is made with papermâché.
On the exterior walls of the theatre I created old stones and a tiled roof.
The doll 'the painter' is seated on a small handmade stool.
As she paints she is transforming into a butterfly, her blue silk wings draped around her like a cape.
She was made using wire and textiles, clay and Teeswater fleece and upcycled rabbit fur.
The piece mesures H 55 x W 44 x D 23 cm's

Shipment from the Netherlands, EU with Track & Trace.
I aim to ship within a week after purchase, if for some reason it will be longer, I will contact you with an estimate shipping time.
You will receive a shipment notification with tracking code or link via my shop.
Please keep an eye out for any updates about delivery dates,
if items are returned to me, new shipment costs must be charged.
I take great care in packing my artworks as securely as possible,
using recycled* bubblewrap and sending in a sturdy mailing box.
However, if you wish to have your shipment insured against loss or damage,
please contact me for a special courier shipment quote straight after your purchase.
