MOIRE THE SELKIE
Moire is a creature of the sea, half seal half woman.
In Celtic mythologie the Selkie is known to be a beautiful, mysterious dark haired woman, her eyes forever full of melancholy.
The Selkie tale is a tale of the recovery of a woman's wild soul symbolised by the sealskin;
when the Selkie's sealskin is stolen and hidden away she will not be able to return to the ocean.
She will yearn for the salty waters and is often seen by the shore longingly gazing toward the horizon, sometimes for years she may be living a life on land.
But when she eventually recovers the skin, she will return to the deep blue seas,
sometimes taking her human children with her too.
This doll is made with textiles, mohair, faux fur and has clay features.
She measures 43 x 24 cm and hangs from a hook on her back

🎨 ABOUT PANTOVOLA
I make handmade textile sculptures and art dolls since 2015 inspired by Fairytales and Folklore, Victorian Ghost Stories, Dreams and the Natural Queendom.
My creations are all lovingly made by me in my homestudio using mostly vintage & antique fabrics and curios, water based paints and air drying clay.
I try to give a good representation of the artworks with my photographs,
however some colours may slightly vary depending on screen calibration
Please be aware of possible VAT & Custom charges, they are the recipient's responsibility
Shipment takes place from the Netherlands, EU with Track & Trace.
I aim to ship within a week after purchase.
You will receive a shipment notification with tracking link via my shop.
Please keep an eye out for any updates about delivery dates,
if items are returned to me, new shipment must be charged.
I take great care in packing my artworks as securely as possible and only offer tracked and signed for delivery to ensure safe shipments
