Fragment of a Tragedy
This is a special doll sculpture that I have had in my own collection for some years,
I now decided to let go of her ...
She is built on top of an antique wooden penny box turned shadow box, which can be displayed open or closed.
Upon opening a large butterfly in resin is revealed surround by words taken from antique book pages.
These words have been placed together to form a small poem about the fleety wings of youth, the melancholy upon loosing it and the journey of the soul through life with a mortal body.
The doll itself was created with textiles and clay, deep chocolate brown mohair lock and antique lace and embroidery.
Measurements: 66 cms tall
She hangs securely from a hook on her back

Shipment takes place from the Netherlands, EU with Track & Trace.
I aim to ship within a week after purchase.
You will receive a shipment notification with tracking link via my shop.
Please keep an eye out for any updates about delivery dates,
if items are returned to me, new shipment costs must be charged.
I take great care in packing my artworks as securely as possible,
using recycled* bubblewrap and sending in a sturdy mailing box.
However, if you wish to have your shipment insured against loss or damage,
please contact me for a special courier shipment quote straight after your purchase.
