My paper-mâché puppets are inspired by the handpuppets, or glove puppets, of yore.
The puppet's heads and shoulders are made of paper-mâché, they are painted and varnished and rest upon a metal stand.
The handsewn robe, where the puppeteer's hand would go, is made of vintage and antique textiles and falls over the shoulders of the puppet, creating the body of the puppet
Mother Moon
She knows many disguises, both in light and in darkness.
Just when you think you are getting to know her bright face, she hides herself again and vanishes into the black of night, to be a mystery once more until next time, when she shows herself like a silvery shimmering disc, softly illuminating the sky and all that lives under it.

I take great care in packing my artworks as securely as possible,
using recycled* bubblewrap and sending in a sturdy mailing box.
