Ursula Von Monschau is a textile and clay Art Doll of approx 68 cm's tall
I started her creation whilst on a little break in Monschau, Germany.
Time has truly stood still in that beautiful ancient place in the valley,
and Ursula has been inspired by its timelessness.
Ursula is made with a textile base.
Her Lunar face, representing the ever changing cycles of life,
is made of clay with a lace relief, hand painted ands varnished
Antique pocket watches are attached to her bodice.
Her clothing is made with antique lace and Edwardian Era silk,
Hours and hours of delightful stitching in silver and white thread has gone into its creation.
Some parts of her arms and legs have clay with lace relief added
Her shoes are made of up cycled leather sewn by hand with silver thread
Ursula's neck is adorned with antique embroidered textile that I found in Steve's antique shop in Monschau.
Her hair is made using Teeswater fleece and mohair braids with hidden wire, so they can be shaped to stay in place.
On her right leg I have sewn a patch of gorgeous floral embroidery from a piece of Edwardian Era clothing.
🎨 ABOUT PANTOVOLA
I make handmade textile sculptures and art dolls since 2015 inspired by Fairytales and Folklore, Victorian Ghost Stories, Dreams and the Natural Queendom.
My creations are all lovingly made by me in my homestudio using mostly vintage & antique fabrics and curios, water based paints and air drying clay.
I try to give a good representation of the artworks with my photographs,
however some colours may slightly vary depending on screen calibration
